I started using this as soon as it arrived. After 30 days of use, I am a believer! My Vo2 max and my FTP (functional threshold power) increased dramatically. The instructions on cleaning are spot in and the video’s for use are good.

  2. LeeFogle

I am a normally healthy 62-year-old endurance athlete and after Covid-19 I had pneumonia and diminished lung capacity. This device is fantastic for restoring lung capacity and building good diaphragmatic breathing.

  3. tigero88

Very Good For Athletes, the Highest Setting might be too difficult for most…but it’s easily adjustable

  4. Paul F. Bourque

    Follow instructions for best use.

  5. Michael Gysin

Being Alpha One Deficient, it is important that I exercise my lungs, the Breather Fit is excellent for that, and I would suggest it to anyone with a respiratory disorder or want to enhance their cardio capabilities. The only thing I would warn people of is the make sure to find the with Breather that comes with the case which it should automatically come with a case.

  6. Pimpampoum`

This is a great stamina builder. Easy to use, dials to make it harder or easier.

  7. Omarios420

They don’t have Breather coach app for android users. So take note people.

This is my review building from March with the B Fit – for the past 2 weeks I have been on max settings 2x 20 reps a day, feels very comfortable, tho’ it has been best to build up to this, and the progress is very straightforward, self paced and definitely beneficial [just no chance to try with SCUBA yet!]. What I have now is more confidence in my breathing, and a definite improved feel in exercise. This is a great tool and a real find – heartily recommended. So, I am looking for the next stage, please!!!!

PROS: Comes with independent inspiration/expiration (inhale/exhale) ability. I had an Ultrabreathe long ago, which doesn’t offer that option. Pretty easy to clean. Lots of videos online re: cleaning, use, etc. This one is for ATHLETES–if you have COPD or other, you want the white/blue one: “The Breather”–coloring makes it easy to determine which one to get/use. Comes with extra mouthpiece for smaller mouths, if one needs it–again, the Ultrabreathe had that weird silicone thing, which, IMO, created more spit issues with use. After a couple days’ use, it already seemed to be helping with my issues when exercising; I started having exercise-induced bronchio-spasm in the last couple years, and use albuterol when air quality is really crappy from heat/humidity or really cold. Figured I would “get back on” RMT to use less of the drugs + hopefully increase athletic performance (too soon to tell on that part)–anecdotally, glad it seems to be helping & plan to stick with it.

CONS: Really, only the cost. It’s plastic and probably some internal diaphragm (vs. the Ultrabreathe was a twist with a plastic ball inside–hence, the lack of independent in/out adjustability, and only $20). Those complaining about “blowing it out” are probably not using it correctly–trying “too hard.” Videos make it clear: Use at 70% of your “lung strength” & do NOT puff out cheeks with inhaling OR exhaling. I *might* get “too strong” for this, which would be a bummer.

But, if one looks at the Airofit (SMRP of $300!!!) it *also* has independent dials and only about 6 levels–so unless the internal mechanisms are vastly better/stronger, all one is paying for is their app–and no, you don’t need the app unless you are a number junkie or pro athlete–in which case, they will probably pay you to use it. Us normal athlete schmucks, however, will get by just fine with something like this.

Protocol is simple: breathe on certain settings 10 time twice a day. Benefits are noticeable.

thebreather 🙏🏼💪🏼😊Thanks for sharing this. 🙌🏼carbonebrothers_surf We surfers feel blessed – we are still able to hit the waves every day. Our dad works for the company who makes Breather Fit. We use during warmup time before surf training each day and have a focus protocol we use during competition days.“

As with any muscle in our body, to experience adaptation, we must apply an appropriate stimulus. This remains true for our respiratory muscles, although we often overlook them. Breathing against load can help strengthen these muscles. We have enjoyed using the @thebreather due to its ability to provide varied resistance to both the inhale and exhale. A balloon is another option, although this does not provide resistance for your inhale.

The Breather Fit recommends a protocol of twice a day, 2-3 sets of 10 reps at 7 RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion), for increased respiratory muscle strength and endurance.“

“Hey everyone! Finally got to show off a little bit of the @thebreather (fit) I’ve been using! This tool that allows me to gradually provide resistance to my respiratory muscles! 💪 .Having asthma 💨(exercise induced)🏃 throughout my life I have noticed that when it acts up it is usually when I’m training hard and breathing heavily. Not surprisingly my asthma gets better the more frequently I train and breath heavily the better my breathing gets… Like I’m raising the threshold.🏋️.

The breather fit let’s me have the same effect on my breathing without having to work myself to my limit to get there. I have been adding it on after my breathwork sessions and it’s been great! .Let me know in the comments down below if you would like be to talk more about it or do a tutorial!“

  14. Lindsay R. Bayne

“I felt that I had outgrown the (basic, dare I call it?) Breather, finding probably some benefit of course, but I had the settings on maximum for several week, increased reps and sessions – so time to look for something more. The B.Fit is the next logical step, as I’m a SCUBA diver (experienced now), seeking to enhance my dives with better breathing control and ability:so, this is my 2nd day, and feel comfortable on setting 2, used for the first time this morning: no puffing of the cheeks, in control, building from a conservative 10 reps: this device is great, giving me a range to work through far better than the Breather…”

Priming for workouts is crucial. I use and combine a variety of “breadcrumbs” to integrate and prime breathing, cognition, and pliability.

Here I am focusing on DNS “cylindrical breathing” with feedback from a yoga block and the ground on my torso. Additionally, I am using @thebreather fit for RMT (respiratory muscle training) to prime IAP. (intra abdominal pressure)

  16. Karl

“Easy to use, helps breathing whilst strengthening the lungs. The best thing is it works both inhaling and exhaling muscles keeping it balanced, unlike POWERbreathe which concentrates on inhaling.

  17. Jona T

I just tested the breather before my last basketball game and noticed huge improvements in my breathing and stamina. I didn’t even have to sub out once! It is easy to use and bring anywhere!

  18. Tina Conway

Now as an affiliate athlete to BREATHER FIT I am able to continue to get my lungs on point. I recommend you check out @thebreather as I have every faith that this will improve my overall fitness and give me the edge with #noexcuses
