Long time asthmatic. Long time breathing issues. Had family with cystic fibrosis. Keep thinking if this had been invented then they also would have benefited. So easy to use. And it really helps.

  2. Amazon Customer

Firstly, I do not have any lung or breathing issues but I am very impressed with this device. I went into their Website and watched a few videos and read about the benefits. I get anxiety and become short of breath so I’m using this to practice deep, Diaphragmatic breathing. This should help me when I get into an anxious situation, also getting more oxygen to my brain and cells isn’t a bad thing. I keep it in my reading room and use it a few times a week and I really like it. I can tell I’ve already improved!

  3. barbara

Much needed—!I am so pleased with the Natural Breathing Lung Exerciser by The Breather Store..!
I’ll say upfront that I don’t have any underlying medical conditions but with age I have realized I need to increase my lung capacity. Steps, carrying heavy things while gardening, all have begun to cause me to be a little short of breath, nothing life threatening but still–disconcerting—? Therefore, for me, the Pink Breather is perfect. I have just started exercising my lungs with it and I already feel mentally better. Nicely manufactured and easy to use and additional extra is the company’s web site with information on how to use–etc.
I am very very pleased with this item—thank you!

  4. Wayne Morris

Tutorial Video helps to understand how to use this device Works Great.

  5. Candyce Fulford

It really works! I am so grateful that my physical therapist recommended this product. I’ve used it daily for a week and a half and can feel the change for the better in my lung strength.

  6. Marilyn Daly

That it works. I purchased this item to help my breathing and it has helped me tremendously. It’s used to train my lung muscles to work more efficiently.

  7. Joe

Awesome product for COPD. Bought it for my mom who has mid-stage COPD and on part-time oxygen. Definitely helped increase her oxygen saturation stats. Would definitely recommend it. Also helps when hyperventilating if climbing stairs.

  8. Aniki

Why I recommend the Breather from Amazon. I recommend it for patients with Parkinson’s Disease. It is easily manageable to increase the resistance levels and objective results can be obtained.
This one was delivered in record time to New Zealand. I have never received it as fast from the manufacturer, however, the prices are climbing and that may not be manageable! As long as patients can pay for it, I will recommend it to improve/maintain muscles that are involved with swallowing, voicing and coughing.

  9. Dreamwalker99

Great for people. recovering from Covid. Exercises lungs, difficulty of inhale/exhale can be adjusted, price is good and was recommended by my physical therapist. I find it works.

  10. Kat Combs

Excellent device. This device is wonderful, easy to use, small and compact. Plus very effective. After suffering with covid 2020 respiratory problems occured. The Breather is helping in the restoration of my lung function.

  11. Michael M. Kilarski

It works! This definitely helps increase lung capacity, felt improvement after a couple of days, follow the recommendations and stick to it you feel much better.

  12. Becca

This little gadget is a wonderful tool to build your lung capacity. As a nurse, I am wearing a mask almost 12 hours a day and recently went to my yearly physical only to find out my CO2 was borderline high. This means you are not exhaling strong enough and CO2 is left in your system. A couple of days into the treatment I could feel myself taking deeper breaths and exhaling a lot stronger and being a lot more cognizant of my breathing. I would highly recommend this to anyone with issues of lung capacity. I use the breather twice a day and bought the case. It is a well-built system that is not as large as the incentive spirometer and therefore easy to travel with. The dials let you increase the resistance as your lungs get stronger breathing in and breathing out. Anyone post-COVID would benefit from this device and lung exercise.

  13. Jeanne McMullen

I have pulmonary hypertension and I use oxgen 24 hours a day. Ibought the pink one and I love it! It has strengthen my breathing ability in a short period of time. my pulmonologist said this was an excellent choice, I use it at least 4 times a day as directed and no longer gasp for air ! I have recommended it to other people and they love it too!
    Thanks for a wonderful product

  14. Osprey

Great lung strengthner. This is a great little tool for building lung capacity. Even as a healthy 37 year old I am getting quitte a benefit from it. I had to start at one and am just now working up to higher settings.

  15. E. Schuh

Breather is as expected and arrived in a very timely fashion and in excellent condition.

  16. C. Cowles

A fun muscle trainer for lungs. These are recommended for people who need good lung capacity and they’re highly rated everywhere so I had to try it for my COPD issues and I can already tell a difference. It helps strengthen my lung muscles so my breathing is optimized. It’s easy to use and easy to clean. 5 stars. Great product.

  17. Michelle N.

It works. I ordered this for my 20 yr old son who suffers from asthma and allergies. Due to his age he will be in one of the last phases to get a vaccine. I worry so much since he is so susceptible to respiratory illnesses. He has been trying this exerciser for a couple of weeks now. He says it is easy to use. It feels like a great workout for your lungs and he can already notice a difference in his lung capacity. I am going to order another for my mother who suffers from COPD.

  18. IMO

Helps improve Lung function. I have asthma that gets worse with allergies and when I’m sick. My thought when I saw this device was if I can improve my baseline breathing, then it won’t fall as much when I get sick. I fortunately haven’t gotten sick yet, to test that theory. But I have noticed an improvement in my breathing. I watched the videos on the website to learn how to use it and I’m using the app. I like that I can adjust the inhalation and expiration separately. I definitely recommend this!

  19. KTaylor

I live in a very arid city with extremely bad air pollution (one of the worst places to breathe in the world, in fact), and over the past winter I seem to have developed something like chronic sinusitis. My nose feels permanently stuffy, my snoring has worsened and my sleep is disturbed. It’s the kind of issue that I’d usually see a doctor about, but given the situation with Covid I’d prefer not to risk visiting a hospital to deal with an annoyance that doesn’t seem particularly urgent.

For the past few weeks I’ve been making do with a nasal spray to clear my sinuses, though I’m aware that isn’t a long term solution and I’ve been concerned about potential side effects. I was over the moon, then, when my Breather arrived and I discovered that using it to practice obstructed exhalation maintains positive pressure in my sinuses, helping naturally clear my blocked sinuses.

I’ve only been using it for a few days so far, but I’m really happy with it. I smoked for 20 years before finally wising up so my lung capacity probably isn’t where it should be at the age of 39, and seeing this thing on my table serves as a great reminder that I need to be more aware of my lung health. It’s easy to use, so there’s no excuse not to grab it when you’re watching TV and have your hands free.

If I could make one improvement it would be to include a carry case. The Breather comes with two mouthpieces but nothing in which to store them, so a little pouch would be handy.

  20. Tigresskat101

Works great. I really like this. I’m using it 3 times a day and I do believe it’s helping. I’d recommend it to others with Stage 1 COPD and/or Emphysema.

  21. Christine

Easy to use. This works great for me. It is easy to use and wash and takes up very little room. Since it sits next to my bed, I actually use it on a regular basis to exercise my weak diaphragm. I am eager to see if my breathing function improves when I finally get an office visit with my pulmonologist.

  22. Jennifer lewis

Compact. Ingenious device to help my boyfriend whom has serious lung issues due to both collapsing from gunshots, he is feeling stronger and we are so thankful for a device that can help improve lungs and swallowing issues. Who would have thought! Thank you.

  23. phyllis broadway

Liked and used for COPD breathing exercises

  24. George Abihider

It works. Easy to use (just breathe) and improves breathing.

  25. Lisa S. Brooklyn NY

I think this product really has helped improve my lung function! I use it twice a day. Get the App. The app is quite helpful!! There are videos to learn from. You can track your progress. I’m so glad I purchased this. I have Asthma. My lower lung function was at 47%. I started using this religiously for 2 weeks and my last pulmonary function test reading had my lower lung way numbers at 51%. I only changed three things. 1) My diet. I pretty much went Paleo. I only eat natural sugars from fruit, raw honey (no more than 2 tsp a day) or some maple syrup. No more refined sugar or processed food. 2) I drink a large cup of hot water with some cinnamon (less than 1/4 teaspoon), 1 teaspoon of raw honey, and a squeeze of half a lemon twice a day (this is supposed to be good for lung health) and 3) I purchased this Breather Exerciser. I really do think it’s what brought my lower lung function number up from 47% to 51%. Only time will tell, but I also feel like it empowers me to have some control over the management and care of my lungs in a very proactive way. I just started allergy shots and added Tiger Milk Mushroom by Tigerus (this supplement is said to be good for respiratory health) to my regimen as well. The goal is to get off of long term medication for asthma. I have not been using my albuterol rescue inhaler since I started the three steps I mentioned above and I believe The Breather has played a big part in that. A lot of prayer as well! With God, all things are possible and this little device truly seems like an answer to prayer.

  26. Happy Customer

This is easy to use and strengthens the respiratory muscle.

  27. Clarence Semidey

    I agree with you

  28. Dani

Better compliance than other things we have tried. I purchased this for my father who has COPD. I have encouraged him to use other devices in the past, but didn’t get good compliance. He has consistently been using his new Breather. Since he had an exacerbation earlier this year, I think it has motivated him into better compliance, but also, the Breather is pretty easy to use and it small and he can keep it in an easy to access place with his other breathing medication.

  29. Sergiy Libenson

SAFE AND GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH. I have definitely benefited from using the Breather. After having used the device for 3-4 weeks, I got the impression that my airways became more patent than ever and that the evacuation of the discharge became much easier; consequently, my sleep improved and is now more prolonged. All of the above was probably the result of the switch towards the “diaphragmal” breathing mode. As for the device per se, it’s altogether lovely – by all standards: its design is simplistic; it’s user-friendly; it’s easy to sanitize; it’s durable; most important: it is very adjustable – could be tuned up according to the individual physiological parameters of the user’s organism. Excellent technical support is available online from the manufacturer. Many thanks to all who contributed to the creation of the Breather.

  30. Miss Bee

Good price, good lungs. The cleaning of the device was the most important for me, then be able to use it so easy was like hitting a ball out of the park. The thickness is good not something that’s thin and breakable I would buy it again.

  31. Amazon Customer

Helped with copd. My mom is on level 5. She says this has helped her tremendously. She can exhale after years of oxygen for copd. Thank you!

  32. mpowers

I have a collection of nebulizers, 02 saturation sensors, and devices similar to this one.

I own the Acapella which gives a pulsating sensation on inhale only! If that’s all you want go it. Biggest negative – there is no way to clean it – it is sealed!!!!! This is an invitation to disaster – Not Recommended!! Unbelievable – it required a prescription!!!!

I own the Quake…advantages of this is you turn a crank and can create pulsations you desire on both in inhale and exhale. It does disassemble for cleaning. The only disadvantage I can think of is it take two hands to operate!!! And another prescription was required!!!!

And now I own The Breather. Nice size and shape. Probably the most stylish of all my toys. It is resistance breathing only (no pulsations) but you have control of both inhale and exhale resistance. If you are looking for pulsations to loosen phlegm this is probably not for you. If you re looking for resistance to push 02 saturation levels this should do the job. And….no prescription required!!!!!!

Highly recommended for those looking for a reasonably priced, no prescription required, resistance breathing device!

  33. Sharon Coffee

Would recommend everyone use The Breather.. Easy to use! Helped immensely with my breathing and swallowing problems!

  34. Irv

Easy and Effective. Excellent product – great customer support with some questions. Leave a message and they’ll definitely call back in a day or so.

  35. Kara3864

Great for Training. The app makes it super easy to use and great for tracking your progress

  36. Sarah B

Good for powering up muscles. Bought this for an older relative on the advice of a speech therapist. It has made a difference. It’s easy to use, would recommend it.

  37. Randa Vargas

30 March We got this device at the request of my husbandspeech speech therapist. This device is unique because it helps with inhale and exhale lung function. My husband is a C6 C7 quadriplegic and was on a trach for eight months. He is in the process of learning to eat and swallow again. We are expecting this device to help greatly. Therapist programmed the levels and had us watch the how to video

  38. Patricia Beaver

Well-made product. Well-made product The breather really is a well-made product. I have only used it for two weeks but I find it very useful. It was recommended for voice therapy after removal of a program called mode. I love the size of it it is only about 8 inches long so it is easy to handle or pack to therapy. I did not want to order a case which is available but I do wish that a small bag was included much like a drawstring shoe bag. I had a small travel bag which I use and find it very convenient.

  39. Thomas Abruzzo

Great product. My daughter had vocal cord dysfunction and her speech therapist recommend this one. She said it is helping a lot with her breathing.

  40. John Prez

I got this off of a recommendation from Bob and Brad on youtube as a possible solution for my sleep apnea. I was skeptical but really did t want to use a cpap. I could tell the difference after the first two days. After a week of use my sleep apnea has almost completely abated. Now my wife is also using it and it is helping her asthma. I can’t recommend it enough.

  41. Christine Natrass

This is a great tool my husband uses this on instruction from Speech therapy to help improve diaphragm and his voice.

  42. Sheila Randall

  43. annette

It really helps. It is helping me with my deep breathing after having COVID-19.

  50. Linda Laconti

Given the Breather at a Co-Vid recovering Rehab and this easy to use & maintain item s so wonderful and replaces my having to use 2 other devices to accomplish the same thing. Less bulky and easy to use. I do it several times a day. Especially before doing a breathing treatment. I love The Breather.

  51. Erika Wright

Highly recommended. The Breather has helped my mom increase her lung capacity and ameliorate her COPD symptoms. It is easy to use and really gives a sense of accomplishment. The tutorial videos are very helpful as well.

  52. Shea Grove

Great way to help with deep, steady breathing. This product works great.

  53. Deborah Olsen

Easy to use. My 89 year old mother was so frustrated with the traditional manual spirometers and was never able to get a good rhythm going so she refused to use them. She would use this little device over and over because she could keep it in her mouth and breath in and out. It was well worth the cost to ease her frustration.

  54. Donna Estes Smock

It helps clear mucus from the lungs & that prevents pneumonia!!! This is a real help

  55. Charles A Brown

    Works great for me!!!!!!

  68. Double Hu;k

The breather is an excellent option for the triflo. Easy to use, portable, and easy to clean.

  69. Jae

Worth the extra money!. Good product! Easy to use, clean and store. Small size makes it easy to slip in a pocket. Better adjustments than the standard spirometer.

  70. IamThere

The best self therapy for breathing problems. An excellent therapy according to my respiratory therapist. I thought so, and that’s why I got it, but I am pleased with the videos that explain it, the ease of use, the respiratory improvement (use an ox sat monitor and watch your number rise) and the ability to clean it.

  71. Chettar

Haven’t had time to fully use it!. I like it for what I have figured out to this point.
There is a part that I have not figured out yet.
Lastly, it will take time to see if it is effective?
I wish it took some kind of measurement, maybe it does, have not figured it out yet!

  72. ForensicRN

Great for pre & post op! I bought this for my husband pre op. It’s very portable, easy to use and easy to clean. I’d like to purchase an extra set of mouth pieces but can’t find them.

  73. ladyjane

  75. RHC

Very easy to use. I especially like its ease of use. Just hope it lives up to its claims.

  78. Marianne B. Murphy

It is a big help with my breathing. My speech therapist recommended this devic and I am so glad that she did. I am loving it and my breathing is already better after 😁 3 days.

  79. Amazon Customer

I purchased this product directly through PN Medical, due to a Bob and Brad YouTube video. Within the first 2 weeks I noticed better breathing – less breathlessness, better sleep. At first I wasn’t even using it correctly and I still experienced benefits. I have COPD/Asthma and I’m a senior citizen. It is a durable product, been using now for 2 1/2 months with no issues – even after I dropped it on the tile floor (accidentally) it suffered no damage. It never smelled like off-gassing plastic, as some have said. Maybe the product has been counterfeited and some are receiving inferior goods? I agree that the phone app is a bit wonky but it’s nothing that I haven’t figured out how to get around. Whenever I have used “Help” on the app to ask a question, I have always gotten a prompt response, via email. I have been encouraged to contact “Help” whenever I have a question. This works for me. Thanks so much for this tool. Sure beats sucking on a spirometer and blowing up balloons.

  80. Terri Morris

The product is being used for rehabilitation on a stroke patient.

  81. Jeff P. – Vine Voice

Benefit(s) are subjective and hard to quantify, but it’s inexpensive with no apparent downside…so why not? I have COPD, found this and started using it only a couple of weeks ago. Is it working, is it helpful? I think it may be, albeit slowly. Can I quantify that with a measurement ? Nope. But it may be helping and it’s cheap. My pulmonologist always hammers me to do breathing exercises. He can’t think of a downside and thinks this is a great idea, pointing out that the standard walk tests he subjects me to in his office demand much more effort. So I’m going with 5 stars.

  82. Chance Kaminetzky

    world is changing

  83. FRANKLIN D. DYCUS

The product works ok nothing to get excited about.

  84. Sam313

You need to go to the product’s website in order to use this product. You will not be able to properly use it without watching the video. Additionally you need to watch the assistance video that shows you how to properly breath when using this product.

I had to watch the video several times until i got the proper technique down. However, if you do this once a day you will be able to get used to breathing the proper way without having to keep watching the video.

Once you get used to it. This really does help increase your breathing. I worry about the product breaking. It is made out of plastic and i fear if you drop it, it might crack. I am not trying to test that theory out but that is a reason I scored this product on the low side. That and the fact that the written instructions are not enough to be able to figure out how to use this product.

  85. donald w. calkins

This device, if used daily, will help you to relearn how to breathe properly and effectively.. To strengthen my lungs and diaphragm and become more conscious of a bad habit of shallow breathing.

  86. AD

I like this product but it has no case. You need to buy the case to protect it. That’s an extra $12.99 It’s must buy, the case.
Also to clean it, not the best. I also like thst there is videos online on how to use it right.

I’m gifting this to person that was smoker.
And i might get one for myself.

  87. Randall R. Broad

Lung Exercisor…no fuss, no muss, no plug-in’s necessary. Helps to exercise your lungs to keep in proper working order. Can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t benefit regardless of your lungs condition. Mine are compromised…with the bad air and all the masks we’re having to wear, this helps to keep ones lungs in tip top shape.

  88. Lila

I am not sure if it is better than an incentive spirometer, but it seems to work as long as you practice using it correctly. I feel like the incentive spirometer gives you more of a challenge and a visual eye on how deeply to exhale vs using this device. But it is easy to use and set and easy to clean – and small and more portable than an incentive spirometer, so those are all benefits.

  89. Chancedad

Great for asthmaI purchased this for some who has severe asthma as a tool to help strengthen her lungs. So far it does seem to help her if she uses it early in the morning and in the evening before bed. She’s still dependent on her rescue inhaler but hopefully in time this product will help to reduce her reliance on the medication. I’ll keep this review updated as time goes on.

  90. Amazon Customer

Medical use device. I have purchased this device to review it for an educational project. I will not speak to how this device may or may not improve my lung functionality as I did not purchase this device for personal medical necessity. I can tell you that there is a definite increase in resistance as the dial(s) are increased. After reviewing clinical studies, it appears that this device may benefit some disease processes, possibly resulting in an increased quality of life. If you consider purchasing this device due to a disease process that The Breather claims to benefit, make certain to review this with your physician. There are consequences for those that this device is contraindicated.

  91. Diana Cefalu

Individualize your own treatment. This tool is wonderful for increasing your lung strength and capacity. The ability to gradually increase the resistance separately on the inhale and exhale allows you to personalize your therapy no matter what purpose you are using it for.

  92. Sherri Johnson

This is very easy to use. Speech therapist suggested this and it’s perfect to help with therapies and lungs. Easy and Great Product

  93. Tanya

It is so easy to use. I really like ” The Breather” because it’s small and simple to use, and after using it for a couple of days I feel that it is working to strengthen my Diaphragm, I made the purchase because I have Parkinson disease which affects all your
muscles , the muscles that help with ones voice, and how it projects, and the muscles that help with swallowing .

it’s going to help keep my lungs clear, as I continue to age.

  94. lois Eddins

The breather is easy to use and clean. It was recommended by my 96 year old Dad’s Dr to help exercise his lungs. I may purchase one for myself! 👍🏻

  95. Shanti

The breather is easy to use and clean. It was recommended by my 96-year-old Dad’s Dr to help exercise his lungs. I may purchase one for myself! 👍🏻

This tool is wonderful for increasing your lung strength and capacity. The ability to gradually increase the resistance separately on the inhale and exhale allows you to personalize your therapy no matter what purpose you are using it for. Individualize your own treatment!

  104. Gregory D. Rosenberg

For anyone with breathing or lung issues. This is an awesome device to strengthen your diaphragm muscles.

  105. Danny

It is a very simple design and easy to use. It worked well and helped strength. Still using and have no issues.

My speech therapist recommended this product, and I’m glad she did. I am using it to hopefully improve my lung capacity and to help my voice strength. So far, I really like it! I would highly recommend.

I purchased this for some who has severe asthma as a tool to help strengthen her lungs. So far it does seem to help her if she uses it early in the morning and in the evening before bed. She’s still dependent on her rescue inhaler but hopefully in time this product will help to reduce her reliance on the medication. I’ll keep this review updated as time goes on.

I bought this for my 82 yr old dad who suffers from COPD/emphysema, apnea, and asthma. He also has aphasia from a stroke so learning how to follow instructions, with something that is easy, is a must. This device fits the bill. He got sick early in the year and was on a rotation of nebulizer, O2 therapy and lung strengthening/ diaphragmatic breathing with this device. His O2 levels were low and this helped tremendously get him to take those deep inhalations easily and strengthen the lungs, which in turn led to a build-up of higher O2 concentrations on a regular basis. It’s a great device! I bought one for me as I was diagnosed with apnea and am also a singer and with regular use, I see it has made a world of difference. During our bout with the virus, I used it to help strengthen as well, along with our nebulizer treatments. I can’t say enough about this device. During these times I personally feel this is a great device that especially those with lung issues need to make part of their care-repertoire and one doctor needs to recommend!

It helped me exercise to improve my breathing

I’m an Speech Therapist, frequently treat people with Parkinson’s disease. Very good research shows respiratory strength training can help with voice for this and many other health issues. Using The Breather, a recent patient had immediate improvement with severe vocal weakness (such that person couldn’t be understood). Then bought one each for husband and me to address asthma and continued weakness from a severe illness. Improvement noted in less than a week, including, surprisingly, I’m standing up much straighter. Husband still working his way up the scale, I’ll probably be ordering the black version by next month. It looks like a toy, but it’s a serious piece of equipment.

After reading several articles related to controlling hypertension with breathing exercises, I purchased this device to see if it would work for me. Simple in concept and easy to use, It lowered my SBP (systolic blood pressure) by about 5 points with the very first use. After using it twice a day for two weeks, my blood pressure was nearly ideal… all without pharmaceuticals. Of course, everyone is different and you shouldn’t stop your meds or rely on this thing without consulting with your doctor but, for me, it works.

I have been a respiratory therapist for 37 years. I do pulmonary rehab now in skilled facilities. I use the breather for COPD and PTS with dysphagia. With time i see their sob decline and ability to ambulate further. I also instruct use to help with anxiety that prevents PTS from doing pursed lip breathing.

  113. Michael Siers

I’m end stage emphysema, 23% lung capacity.
I began using the Breather about a month ago and have seen tremendous results.
My endurance is much better, I don’t use my oxygen as much ( hardly at all during the day) and my over all breathing is better .
I would highly recommend the Breather to anyone with respiratory problems, it’s been a game changer for me !
    Thanks

This is good an alternative to breathing therapy. I’m a smoker and it helps.

After a particularly bad COPD flare up, I thought I would be stuck with oxygen therapy 24/7. My physical therapist son brought this to me. in 4 days, I was so much better. I only need oxygen therapy at night or exercise. I feel the medication actually reaching my lungs. a bonus my blood pressure has lowered. changed my life. THANK YOU BREATHER

  116. Great Holistic tool

I used it when I had bronchitis to help my lungs. You don’t realize how much you are struggling until you use it.

I have COPD and purchased The Breather to strengthen my diaphragm muscles. I have significantly improved my breathing by using it every day. It also helps to empty your lungs of phlegm which makes breathing so much better. I have and will continue to tell people about how great this product is. Thank you so much. It is worth every penny!!

  118. Janice Hullemeyer

I bought this for my son, who had a positive case of Covid19. He used this daily to exercise his lungs. He has thankfully recovered, but, will still use The Breather to continue to strengthen his lungs. Thankful I bought this for him!!!

  119. Love

I bought this product to help improve my breathing. I have been vaping heavily for a few years and I can only imagine what damage it has done to my lungs, trying to quit and salvage my health before coronavirus hits. It is simple to use and I have already seen improvement in my breathing in the few weeks I’ve had the product. It teaches you to breath deeper, even while not using the product! Idk how this is even possible, but I noticed that the product forces me to use muscles in my chest, abs, neck, and face that I don’t typically use when breathing my normal lazy, shallow breaths. For smokers and vapers who are trying to quit, while this won’t help with your nicotine addiction, it definitely will satisfy your desire to draw on a cigarette/vape! Whenever I crave a bit of my vape, I’ll do 10 long inhalations and exhalations instead and it definitely helps curb the vape craving!!!! Additionally, the breathing exercises are helpful for those who are interested in the calming/meditative feelings brought on by proper breathing. Sometimes it’s hard to focus on your breath when faced with anxiety or when trying to meditate, this product makes it so much easier! For those reasons, I can see myself using this product even long after improving my lung function and quitting my vaping addiction. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to improve lung function or anyone interested in improving their meditative breathing technique.

I have COPD and suffer from chronic lung infections. My resting oxygen saturation rates have been around 82 without oxygen. I have been using the breather consistently and my oxygen saturation are at 84. The good news is my resting oxygen saturation is not going down but up. I will be grateful if I can maintain the current resting saturation rate without oxygen. It is imperative that I build up my lung strength.

As a chronic asthma sufferer since childhood, I bought this to help strengthen my diaphragm as I’m reading that Covid weakens the respiratory system. After 1 week I can feel my diaphragm muscles as being a bit sore from the exercise, so I think it’s working!

The iPhone app is just okay. Cumbersome to use and the dashboard seems to be lagging behind by one treatment or more. I do LOVE the timer that shows you when to inhale/exhale to help you pace yourself. I’m hoping it’ll also tell me to change my index number as it’s getting easy to inhale/exhale thru it.

I did a lot of research on respiratory training devices for hypertension, shortness of breath when exercising, blood oxygen level and general health (all of which are big issues for me). Ended up choosing The Breather. Ordered it on Amazon a few days ago and received it a couple of days ago. Used it once and found that there was now a seam between the top and bottom halves. They were still connected but was a gap between them. Turns out I am able to use it anyway (though am a bit nervous about doing so). Have updated my rating to reflect that it is still useable. Giving 4 stars and not 5 because it doesn’t seem very sturdy. However, I really like the design – especially the ease of use and the fact that it’s for expiratory as well as inspiratory training, the links to studies on the website documenting the benefits (in the footnotes), the excellent and helpful training videos (have watched the Foundational Protocol video several times), the reviews citing health improvements in areas I am hoping to improve, etc. Am hoping that it will make a big difference in my health. Have actually ordered more of them in case this one stops being usable and so I have backups. Also love that it was created by a female therapist and the people in the training videos were women. Loved that they mentioned this is a tool used by speech language pathologists (my sister is a SLP). Am retiring soon and want to get started on improving my health now so I can really enjoy my life after retirement! Very happy to have discovered this and am really hoping the 2 additional units I purchased work (and are a bit sturdier…).

I was recommended this to help with lung capacity. I am 35 with the lung capacity of an 80yr old. I have yet to see how well it works from long term use. It is easy to use, clean, and the instructions are simple. Be warned! In the instructions it says not to bite down, well i did to hold it in place and the next day my jaw was killing me. I have never had jaw problems before. Almost a yr later and my jaw still hurts. I ended up being diagnosed with TMJ. This required doctor visits and an injection. None of which my insurance covers. So make sure you don’t bite down. I tried it again this evening, but this time I did not bite down and if I wake up with jaw pains again I’ll update my review. I will say about 20 minutes after using it I have crackling in my jaw, but no new pains yet.
